[On my first attempt, the clock stopped with a little over nine minutes to go... I'm not sure if the poem was lost.  I'm starting over...]

                           GONE MISSING

It was some time ago now

the sun quit turning

around the earth; we miss it, we miss the sun.

...And miss thos clean, aspirational, clear-headed lines

holding the chained firmament so workably in place.

We miss the moon.  We miss the stars.

And recently--maybe today--when you and I

strode purposefully, full on toward the sun,

we missed the moon, the stars; and missed the sun.

In the harsh light, one of us looked at the other,

the other apprehending the look: we missed

it all, the whole once before.  And of course the sun.
